Summary

Here's roughly the route we took on our journey and some costs:

Kuala Besut to KL

Upon reaching Kuala Besut, we returned to the tour agency office to return our life jackets and snorkeling gear. We then headed to a nearby restaurant (April Cafe or something like that, next to the Sakura restaurant) and had a very nice lunch for only RM77/-. Bought more souvenirs at the shops at the marina.

Pulau Perhentian (things I learned)

So we spent 3 days and 2 nights at the Perhentian Island Resort in all. Things I learned:

Pulau Perhentian

We checked into our hotel room promptly, and took a quick hot cup lunch, as we were suppose to go for our first snorkeling trip at 2 pm.

Kuala Terengganu to Kuala Besut

The next day, we checked out of our hotel and started our journey to Kuala Besut at around 9:30 am. We took route 3, which is basically a 2-lane federal road with a 90 km/h speed limit.

KL to Kuala Terengganu

We decided to split our journey from KL to Kuala Besut over 2 days, as we did not want to exhaust ourselves upon reaching Pulau Perhentian. Thus, we decided to put up a night in Kuala Terengganu.

Background

I recently made a trip to Pulau Perhentian with my family (wife and 2 kids, aged 7 and 9). Stayed at the  Perhentian Island Resort from June 16 to 18. We actually made plans to go there next year, but a week before, we found out that my wife's friend was taking her 2 kids there (aged 7 and 12), and we decided to join her as it'll be fun with more company.
